SEA ROVER SHARK DERBY RULES
1. All entries MUST be paid in full before 4pm, September 2rd to take part in Saturday September 3th fishing.
In order to take part in Sunday, September 4th fishing all entries MUST be paid in full before 4pm Saturday, September 3th.
2. The entry fee is non-refundable and non transferable.
3. ONLY registered anglers will be allowed to take part in the Sea Rover Shark Derby.
4. All entries must be at the weigh in station by 7pm at the Sea Rover Dock on Saturday, September 3th and Sunday, September 4th.
5. Only one shark, per angler, per day may be entered at weigh in subject to DFO recreation and shark regulation for the Sea Rover Shark Derby.
6. Top winners will be determined by dress and weight of shark. One prise per fish if only one eligble shark is landed only one first place ($2000) will be awarded.
7. All methods of catching your shark other than hook-and-line methods are prohibited. License holder shall only be permitted to use Rod & Reel fishing gear ONLY.
8. Fishing areas are limited to: Scotia-Fundy Portion of NAFO Divisions.
9. All sharks must be brought to weigh in station in whole condition.
FINNING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
10. No person shall be permitted to retain any shark or portion for personal consumption, sale, barter or trade.
11. Boats may not depart Sea Rover Resort & Marina before 6am on Saturday September 3th and 6am on Sunday, September 4th. Boats may be in water before Shark Derby takes place, however no shark fishing before the set time will be allowed.
12. Members of the tournament committee are eligible to fish the Derby and are held to the same set of rules.
13. The Sea Rover Resort and Marina and event organizers are not responsible for any property damage, injuries or death during the tournament or weigh in. Fishing and landing sharks is dangerous.
14. VHF Channel 71 will be used as a means of communication for the Derby.
15. The Sea Rover Resort & Marina holds the rights to postpone the Shark Derby due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
16. Sea Rover reserves the right to modify the rules at anytime as may be requires to mitigate controversey and ensure fairness. Sea Rovers' position is final.
